Cute, squishy toys

They look cute, don't they? First thought that comes to mind, our toddler will like one of these. The pineapple looks particularly nice. Cute collectible toys may help young kids learn about stuff -- animals, fruits, colors, etc. On the other hand, on a deeper level, famous fastfood innovations, like yes, Happy Meal, pre-condition us into buying. We, part of the older generation, grew up with McDo and going there had sort of become part of our comfort zone, and we unknowingly (though oftentimes with full awareness) pass it on to our kids, and then our kids' kids. Wala lang. I used to just love McDo french fries, and quarter pounder of old times when it was still juicy. Oh, and the Kiddie Crew program -- with kids wearing a McDo attire and being taught how to serve customers -- seems ok. And the lure is immense. But as with all things, there's a downside to frequently heading to such fastfood joints. Learning about the perils of trans fats in the fries, of the health drawbacks of burgers & nuggets kinda just puts me into 'serious' think mode. Wala lang. Just thought I'd share that. Even if I do, anyway, may mga bagay talagang binabalik balikan lang talaga natin ...even with the drawbacks.
