Real Review

Fond recollections of Universal Studios SG

While fully funded (work-related, writing-related, too) travel is nice and easy on the pocket, self-funded ones hit differently. I recall embarking on my first personal travel with my sister a few years ago ~ at SG, and I had a blast. A literal blast riding the indoor roller-coaster at "Revenge of the Mummy," then a day after, hieing off on my own at night (since my sis-sy preferred to stay in the hotel room) and ending up at "Little India" and Marina Bay Sands' outdoor area where, w/ impeccable timing, a light & water show (somewhat like Okada's dancing fountain show but with images projected on the water) played out. While at SG, I also enjoyed the spectacle of a really wide variety of flowers/plants at "Flower Dome" side by side with the highest waterfall attraction there, called "Cloud Forest." And the hawker centres are a must-try! I just love Singapore, and being selected as part of a small grp of writer-representatives from the Philippines, Thailand, & Indonesia in the past brought me back there again -- twice. During those two instances, it was the food we got to immensely enjoy (no sightseeing anymore, since we were workshop participants). This year, and last year, and the year before that, I missed out on the big airline seat sale, so the travel plans kept getting rescheduled. But I'm making it happen this year again. Eyeing Taiwan or Vietnam. China's on my list, too, and a friend in Australia has been inviting me to visit her there, but that can wait. Sa malapit muna sa Pinas 🤗🧳✈️
