Kickstart your day by "goin' bananas"
Wondering what an ideal breakfast may be? Ditch the processed food - ham, luncheon meat, bacon -- for a change. Opt for a simple yet nutrient-laden breakfast, and no, it's definitely not a McDo meal (though that may sound sooo convenient). Go for something that has both protein and carbohydrate components, yet not high in sugars. Soaked oats are considered to be very nutritious, and cooked oats (steel-cut or rolled oats) are advisable rather than the highly advertised instant ones. Chia seeds soaked overnight --- w/ plain yogurt and maybe topped by strawberries -- seems real nice, if you have those ingredients in your kitchen. If you do, hydrate the chia seeds fully by adding milk after adding them into your plain yogurt the night before breakfast consumption. The grains will not make blood sugar level spike. I recently read in Quora, as recommended by a health advisor, that bananas are great after waking up because of the fruit's positive effect on heart rate and muscles. A medium to large banana is high in potassium and magnesium as well as some vitamins. Those nutrients can help restore body functioning during the first few hours of your day.
