Teach You A Lesson
While watching Teach You a Lesson, I found myself really reflecting on teachers and the role they play in shaping our children. Being a teacher is not an easy job. It comes with a lot of responsibility, not only teaching lessons, but also helping form character, discipline, and values that children carry into adulthood. In many ways, they help build the foundation of who our children become. But I also can’t ignore how heavy the load has become for many teachers today. They are not only dealing with classroom challenges, but also pressure from students, concerns from parents, and a system that often leaves them trying to manage everything at once. Sometimes it feels like they are getting the blow from all sides. And it makes me reflect… Growing up, we were taught not just to respect our teachers, but to listen to them, to accept correction, and to understand that discipline in school mattered. At home, we were reminded that teachers were like our “second parents” in school. Because of that, there was a clear understanding that bad behavior was not tolerated; it was corrected. Today, I sometimes wonder what has shifted. Maybe it starts in the home. Because when discipline is not practiced or reinforced at home, it becomes harder for children to accept correction or respect boundaries in school. Respect is important, but so is discipline. So is correction. And so is not tolerating bad behavior. Children need guidance, structure, and accountability, not just understanding without direction. At the end of the day, education is a shared responsibility. It is a partnership between home and school. And when that partnership is weakened, teachers often carry the weight of it. This is just my personal reflection, but I truly believe that when we restore respect, discipline, and proper correction at home and in school, we also help shape better children, stronger families, and a better future. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7) #TeacherAreSecondParentsInSchool #mythoughtjournal #TheYouthIsTheFuture
