Sometimes we think we’re protecting our peace, but we may actually be protecting ourselves from getting hurt. Past experiences can make it hard to trust others or rely on them. Being independent is valuable, but healthy relationships also require openness and trust. The key is asking yourself: Are you setting healthy boundaries, or building walls out of fear?
