Our Picks: garden harvest, breakfast, and a solo 30th
Lots of home-cooked food in this round. And a dog. And a birthday cake for one. QuirkyBunny posted a harvest straight from the garden - fresh, crunchy, "from our garden to our stomach." Salt, vinegar, a little sugar. That's it. No fancy recipe needed. Biboy's breakfast was eggplant, egg, veggies, tomatoes - simple but it screamed province home cooking. The comments turned into everyone sharing their own morning plate. Liz introduced Chloe, her four-month-old shih tzu. Active, sometimes sweet, sometimes moody. First time with the breed and you can tell she's figuring it out. JellyBeans turned thirty and celebrated alone at a restaurant. Thought it'd be awkward, but turns out everyone else was just busy living their own lives too. "Life is still worth celebrating" - short line, but it stuck. She wants company next time though. RIOB's tinola looks plain but her husband made it so it hits different. "Looks simple but special." That's the whole post and honestly that's enough. Each of the five writers gets 300 points. Not for anything grand, just for sharing a piece of their day.
