Not All Friendships Grow the Same Way

Thought a real friendship was found, only to later realize there was hidden jealousy underneath. Never tried to replace anyone or compete with years of friendship — simply came in with genuine intentions and naturally built a real connection. But sometimes, people grow distant or resistant when they feel threatened by someone else’s presence. Real friendships are supposed to grow, not compete. In the end, energy never lies, and people eventually reveal where they truly stand. Funny how the people closest to you can quietly start acting different once they realize your presence is appreciated too. At what point does friendship stop being about connection and start becoming competition? What about you—have you ever experienced something like this in a friendship?
