Honestly, getting home at 7am is the hard part now ☀️

Honestly I don't think people get it when I say the shift itself isn't the problem anymore. I clock out at 7am, then it's an hour and a half on the bus (no aircon half the time), sun on my face through the window, and by the time I get to my room it's like walking into an oven that won't cool down till 4pm. So that's when I'm supposed to sleep. The hottest part of the day. Body still buzzing from a full night of calls. I used to just lie there. Now I've started doing this thing where I shower, soak an old shirt in cold water, drape it over the fan, and pass out for maybe three hours before I'm up sweating. It's not great. It's just less bad. And then I show up to the next shift and someone goes "you look tired, you getting enough rest?" and people genuinely ask why I keep getting sick. ngl I don't have a nice answer for that one. Anyway. Everyone's been posting the red PAGASA maps all week and I've got work at 9 tonight. Going to try the cold shirt trick again. #nightshift #graveyardshift #heatadvisory #bpolife
