I remember when i was 27 years old, may napanood akong video on Instagram na gaano kahirap manganak and some of those woman nanginginig pa after the delivery, and wala pa yung mga iniinda nilang sakit, halos maiyak ako at dun ko na-realize na ang kapal ng mukha ko magrebelde kay mama nung teenager ako habang she's giving alot of things we wanted kahit sobrang hirap lang namin, and now na malapit na ako mag-30, all i wanted is invest to my mom's healing like taking her out on a retreats & vacations, or bilhin lahat ng mga bagay na gusto nya. I don't mind kahit maubusan pa ako dahil for me kulang pa nga lahat to compare sa mga sacrifices nya saken. 🥺

When bad things happen to me in my late 20's, now i understand narin why she's so protective and strict.

Tbh mas okay pa saken kahit wala akong jowa basta maalagaan ko lang sya or be there for her forever. 🥺

On the other hand, one thing I never understood as a child, and still cannot decipher until now is how she was able to make ends meet. Raising 4 children, sending us to school at the same time, yet we've never heard or seen her complain. Moms are legit superheroes.

Life helps us understand why they were tired, worried, strict, or emotional at times. We realize they were doing their best while carrying burdens we often never saw. Maturity may not erase every hurt, but it replaces some judgment with empathy. In the end, one of the deepest realizations is that our mothers were also learning, surviving, and growing while raising us.

I used to think my mom was strict for no reason. Ngayon naiintindihan ko na she was just trying to protect me from mistakes. Ilang beses niya akong pinagsabihan noon, and now I see why. I wish I could tell her I get it now. Lahat ng advice niya na dati akala ko OA lang, nangyari sa akin exactly the way she warned me.
