The 4pm malatang group chat 🌶️

Chat went off at 4:08. Just 'malatang run after work, who's in.' I clicked the heart in a second because I always do, even when I have no clue what we are about to eat. Been refreshing the thread instead of finishing this deck. So. Malatang is spicy Chinese hot pot, kind of, the whole point is you build your own bowl. You fill your basket with whatever skewers and noodles and greens you want, then a stranger at the counter weighs the whole thing and judges your math out loud while everyone behind you waits, and that part actually intimidates me more than the spice. Apparently it has been on Gen Z TikTok for months and now the Manila lines are real, snaking out the door and down the corridor. Is the queue actually worth it. I have not had any yet so I cannot declare a verdict, but the photos do something to me. Hannah keeps saying medium spice is fine and Ria already sent the maps pin for somewhere near her train stop.
