You Matter

you matter because you exist. you matter because you're you. you don't have to bleed or suffer for you to be worth the space you take up. and please - i want you to forget the people who made you feel you aren't good enough and kick them out of your heart - because people who love you won't make you burn yourself out. they do not get to live rent-free inside your soul, okay? the mere fact you exist is a miracle, and no one gets to tell you otherwise unless you let them. each of us has our issues and traumas, but no one gets to tell you who and what you are. you choose and live that for yourself. no one can tell you they've had it worse, because there is no comparing trauma. no one has ever been born as you. no one gets to tell you that failing to do one thing or another makes you any less of a human being. because the person who authors your story is you. Not them. we author our own triumphs and our own miseries. and we get miserable only when we heed others' melodies over the songs inside our own heart. you matter. there is only one of you and there never will be another you, so don't ever forget that. you weren't born to live up to others' expectations. you were never born to be a retirement investment. you were never obligated to be anyone else but yourself - to and for yourself. you were born to be you. chin, up, and rise, sis. be brave in being kind to yourself. and that includes daring to be you in a world who has no right to author your existence in this universe.
