Mango is the only thing April got right
okay let me say something nice about April for once. Mango. Carabao at P150 a kilo at the wet market right now, that ridiculous yellow you can spot from across the aisle, juicy enough that it almost makes 42-degree weather feel survivable for five minutes. The how-to-eat-it debate is endless. Hilaw with bagoong on the side, hinog on top of rice, blended into a shake, layered into graham float, or just sliced and eaten cold from the fridge after dinner. Everyone has the one specific way they grew up with and most people will defend it like religion. And there is always that one household member who finishes the bag faster than anyone can react. The bowl is empty by Wednesday and nobody admits who took the last one. Half the household is already negotiating who's buying the next bag. So how are you eating yours this season? And who in your house keeps making the bag disappear? š„
