Update on R Points: What changed and what's coming 🧡

Hey everyone, RayoverTalk here. Wanted to walk you through the recent R Points changes and one more that's on the way. A few of you have been asking about this lately, so felt like a good time to put it all in one place. What changed on April 11 Posts no longer earn R Points. That point amount got moved over to comments and reactions instead. The validity period was also shortened at the same time. The reason behind it: a small number of users were writing and deleting posts on repeat just to farm points, which was pulling the community in a opposite direction. Most of you weren't doing this at all, and we know that. But the system needed adjusting either way so things stay fair for everyone. On the shorter validity, we know it can look confusing when different rewards show different dates. The thinking is this: with regular activity, points usually convert in a few weeks to around a month anyway, so the shorter window is meant to match how people actually use them, not cut them off. What's coming next Since points are now earned through comments and reactions, we're tightening how those get counted. Spammy or repetitive comments won't count toward R Points going forward. Things like emoji-only replies or copy-pasting the same comment across posts won't add to your points. Only comments that reflect actual engagement will. To be clear, this isn't about writing long or perfect comments. Short, casual, real ones are completely fine. The filter is there for the copy-paste and farming behavior, not regular chatting. One more thing R Points exist to reward activity that keeps the community active. When something about that isn't working, the rules around them shift. If you've got questions or something still feels off after all this, drop a comment below and we'll take a look. We’re building a community, not a points game 😉 #RayoverTalk #RPointsUpdate #CommunityUpdate #SafeSpace
