The Mirror Theory

I always remind myself of the Mirror Theory. The way people treat me isn’t always a reflection of my worth—it’s a reflection of what’s going on inside them. Their distance, their silence, even their anger… that’s theirs to carry, not mine to question. I’ve learned not to take everything personally, because not every reaction I receive defines who I am. Sometimes, it simply reveals who they are. The way they see me is shaped by their past, their wounds, their own unfinished battles. And the way they treat me? It speaks louder about their inner world than it ever will about mine. So I choose not to shrink, not to doubt myself, not to internalize what was never mine to begin with.
