A Parent's Wish for Their Son at 26

It's still hard to believe you're 26. Where did the time go? It feels like just yesterday I was reading you bedtime stories, bringing you to church and you won't leave without touching all the statues of saints and doing the sign of the cross,watching you build elaborate Lego figures, singing together and you even memorized bahay-kubo at the age of 3 and a lot more... Watching you grow into the man you are today has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I am so incredibly proud of the person you've become – your intelligence, dedication, compassion, and your concious choice to live a simple life is admirable. Twenty-six is such a fascinating age. You're firmly in adulthood, making your own way, but still young enough to chase your dreams with passion and energy. I hope you continue to embrace every opportunity that comes your way and never stop learning and growing. Remember to always stay true to yourself, even when it's difficult. Trust your instincts, follow your heart, and never be afraid to take risks. And know that no matter what, I will always be here for you, cheering you on from the sidelines.
