For me, space. 
Why? I might say things that'll break their heart because I'm mad. And, I don't want that. So, I'll need space to think before saying something.

I'm in a 7-year relationship and the best way for us start solving our relationship problem is to give each other the space we both need. We use this time to think about things that are needed to be addressed, not to point out who is wrong or right. Conflicts should be discussed when you both are in the right state of mind and when things had cool down. Most decisions during a heated argument would only cost you to either hate each other more or break apart.
