THE PLATFORM

The Platform is a dark, thought-provoking thriller set in a vertical prison where inmates are fed via a descending platform. Those at the top eat first, often leaving little to nothing for those below. Each month, prisoners are randomly reassigned to different levels forcing them to experience both privilege and desperation. The story follows Goreng, a man who voluntarily enters the system, only to confront the brutal reality of inequality, human behavior, and survival. As he descends deeper into the prison, the film reveals how quickly compassion can be replaced by selfishness when survival is at stake. From a woman’s perspective, The Platform resonates as a powerful metaphor for societal inequality, privilege, and the silent struggles many endure. It reflects how systems can fail the vulnerable and raises questions about fairness, empathy, and collective responsibility. At its core, the film challenges viewers to ask: in a world where resources are limited, do we choose to care for others or only ourselves? How do you rise above challenges in your own life?
