Meet Butz the senior dog

3 years ago our province was hit by a super typhoon and everyone in the area evacuated. Only my mother and two siblings (age 5 & 10 yrs old) was left in the house. As my mother started to put our things on a higher place, and the flood slowly fills our floor, our senior dog hurriedly pulls my younger sibling through her mouth trying to get her out from the house like he's trying to save her and bring her into a safer place. My sister told Butz thats its okay and he can leave first and find a safer place. But Butz insisted and still trying to take her hand out from our house that slowly fill with water. Minutes had passed Butz was in the gate and about to walk away from them and barking nonstop like we have to leave the place as soon as possible. Eventually, Butz did not leave his family. He came back to my mother and siblings and when nanay finished saving our things they evacuated together with my siblings, Butz and our 2 years old dog. Indeed, dogs can feel danger and empathy towards their family. I share this real experience of us to remind everyone that animals has feelings to. And someday, they will be the one to save us during a life and death situation. Kindness is free and let us choose to be kind not just to individuals like us but also to animals with four legs. #KindnessMatters
