Dear J, I gave you the best version of me but you were a lie... ----------------------------------------- "A Letter" I hope this letter finds you well But if it doesn’t I wish each fiber of this parchment Dissolve into thin air And become white specks of dust And that they find your fingers Allow them to smudge your hand So you would have touched What I have held so delicately Should you not get my words I wish the untamed wind Would take each letter And whisper them to your ear Ever so softly and gently That you may hear The silent longings of my heart And should you ever Feel lonely and alone Please know, I sent my thoughts To hold and comfort you During such nights of aching And though I cannot touch you Embrace or even kiss you I’ve held you, oh, so lovingly In my faithful heart -----------------------------------------
