Both are hurtful..and it is very difficult to weigh in what hurts more as it depends on the situation..
 
A) an honest person but doesnt make or lack an effort to make ends meet, doesnt support you nor assist in securing your family's future
B) dishonest person but ensure you dont worry what food to eat later or for tomorrow, pay bills

There are variables to consider..but we can never invalidate the feelings esp of the recipient..

I even had a discussion before..is it really that bad to say white lies, esp if it will retain the peace in your house? Or avoid confrontation and focus more on what is important.. at the end of the day.. if you are in a relationship...sometimes you need to consider, compromise but tolerate only to a certain level that they wont abuse you. Know that one is enough, two is too much, three or more is a decision to bring chaos..
