Job Hunting

For over a year now, my professional life has been defined by the "Initial Interview." As a former Business Head, I’m used to being the one driving the strategy, managing the talent, and hitting the targets. I know how to get things done. Yet, lately, my years of "high impact" seem to be working against me. Whether it’s a headhunter or a company HR representative, the feedback follows a weary pattern: “You’re too senior for this,” “We can’t match your previous salary,” or the classic, “We went with someone else.” It’s a strange irony: the very experience I worked so hard to build is now the thing keeping me out of the room. It feels like being told you’re too good for the job, but not "right" enough for the paycheck. Who else is stuck in this loop of being overqualified and undervalued? How do we keep our drive when the door keeps closing just as it’s being opened?
