So frustrated

I'm currently doing my internship and I finished the first half, the second half requires me to apply to another setting. Long story short my first setting company is offering me an internship again but in another department and they're going to pay me rather than me paying them (which was what I did in the first half) and my mom is so opposed to it and would rather use her connection to put me in other company. Do I stay in the first setting company or do I listen to my mom? help a uni girl out please! Update: As much as I want to stay in my first setting company, my mom just won't budge, I'm current in the second setting company— it's nice, unfamiliar, and I'm nervous
