From Bargaining to owning my first Saree in Mumbai, India.
Travel Journal – Mumbai This is from my recent trip to Mumbai, India. What struck me most was how many women still embrace their traditional attire, gracefully wearing sarees and salwar kameez, even as modern fashion trends fill the shop windows. The sight of vibrant fabrics flowing through the streets felt like a celebration of heritage woven into everyday life. One afternoon, I wandered into one of the city’s iconic markets, determined to bargain for my very first full set of saree. The market was a whirlwind of colors and sounds—stalls overflowing with shimmering silks, merchants calling out prices, and the aroma of street food drifting through the air. It was a mixture of fun and chaos, with laughter, haggling, and the thrill of finding the perfect piece. By the end of it, I walked away with my saree and a heart full of joy. The experience was more than just shopping—it was a glimpse into Mumbai’s soul, where tradition and modernity dance together in harmony. #Mumbai #MumbaiMemories #sareeshopping #cityofdreams
