Lobby 385 at San Juan 🍽️
We got to eat on one of the prominent, kinda “hidden,” fine dining restaurants in Manila to celebrate my friend's birthday. But before the good meal and laughs with them, me and my boyfriend had to struggle with the distance and traffic we had to go through just to get there. Imagine from Laguna south to Manila during rush hour, total suicide! We mainly got stuck in Manila traffic but eventually we got there just a wee bit late. They ordered a lot for four people and surprisingly for a fine dining, their serving is quite generous. First off, the very eye-catching Lobster Capellini (₱1450) which was not actually topped with lobster but with several tiger prawns for substitute ‘cos they stated that they’ve ran out of lobsters. Given the missing lobster, the tiger prawns were actually on par with the lobster heck even better if you ask me. Cooked to perfection, and it goes perfectly with the Capellini and tomatoes. Another good dish was the Potato Pave Crisp (₱375) which was topped with pecorino cheese, truffle spray, and my favorite hollandaise sauce. It’s like a flavor packed, crunchy, soft snd supple potato crisp thats just the perfect invitation for your mouth, really good! Another one on the table was the Grilled Garlic Leek Chicken (₱625) which was like a pot roasted teriyaki chicken if you let me describe it. It’s cooked well inside and out, very juicy, and the chicken oil cherry tomato shallot confit really goes well with rice if ever u order one. Last was the Crispy Skin Melting Pork Belly (₱595) which was a meh for me considering we were fine dining. It simply tastes like your typical kanto style Lechong Kawali with added fine dining finesse. Overall, a very new dining experience for me which I'll see through whenever I go back to these type of places.
