Netflix Series: MONSTER

Has anyone else been keeping up with Netflix’s Monster series? It’s honestly one of the most fascinating yet chilling anthologies they’ve ever made. Each season focuses on a totally different case, and every single one feels more bizarre than the last. The first one, “DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” tells the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, this quiet, polite guy who turned out to be one of history’s most horrifying serial killers. The show really digs into how he managed to live a double life for years committing gruesome murders while somehow avoiding suspicion from everyone around him which is really creepy, haunting, and just totally jaw dropping if you think about it really deeply. Then season two takes a totally different turn with “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.” These two brothers murdered their wealthy parents and then claimed years of abuse as their motive. What’s crazy is how the show makes you question practically about everything were they spoiled killers or victims driven to the edge? It’s psychological in a completely different way. And just when you think Netflix couldn’t go any darker and horrifying, “Monster: The Ed Gein Story” arrives. Ed Gein was the guy who inspired Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (which I love so much btw), and Silence of the Lambs. He wasn’t just a murderer, he was a grave robber who turned human remains into lamps, chairs, and even masks like where does this guy even get off. It’s the kind of horror that makes fiction look tame and an absolute joke. Each season stands on its own, but together they form this haunting reflection of humanity’s deepest darkest corners. The series doesn’t just show monsters, it shows how they’re made, how they hide among us, and how society sometimes helps them do it. It’s unsettling, it’s disturbing, but it’s also a brilliant reminder that the scariest stories are the ones that actually happened. That’s why I believe in the saying, “be more afraid of the living than the ones who are already dead.”
