What We Learned from Emman Atienza's Death
The internet is flooded with news right now regarding Emman Atienza's death by suicide. She's just 19, and my heart aches for the grieving family. I used to binge watch her Tiktok videos, and I admired how opinionated and outspoken she was. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She was strong-willed. And I admired her independence. Her death teaches us that there are so many people who seem strong and joyful on the outside but are struggling deeply within. Indeed, mental health should be treated with the same care and urgency as physical health. It is important that we create a world where reaching out for help is seen as a sign of courage, not weakness. No one should ever feel alone in their pain or afraid to ask for support. Checking in on friends, listening without judgment, and showing kindness can make a difference in someone’s life. I am deeply saddened by her passing. I hope for love and light for the family.
