Maybe someday, Psyc❤️🩹
My first choice in college was Psychology because I have always been fascinated by how the human mind works and how people deal with their emotions. I wanted to understand not just others, but also myself, especially in a world where mental health is often overlooked. Here in the Philippines, many still see mental health as something less important than physical health. A lot of people struggle in silence because they are afraid of being judged or misunderstood. That reality inspired me even more to choose Psychology, hoping that one day I could help change that mindset. But I didn’t pursue it because I realized there is little to no future in Psychology here in the Philippines, since the country is still not fully open to treatments and professional help like therapy or counseling. It made me sad because I truly wanted to make a difference, but I also had to be realistic about my future. Still, my passion for understanding people and spreading awareness about mental health remains. I believe that even without a Psychology degree, I can continue to promote kindness, empathy, and understanding toward others. One day, I hope the Philippines becomes more open and supportive of mental health care so that people like me can pursue that dream without hesitation.
