Wedding Preparation: Ceremony & Reception

I’ve been married for almost 2 years now, and most of my newly-engaged female friends are asking for wedding tips and advice. So I thought, “why not share it on Rayover, where all the audiences are actually female?” So here goes… My first and most important tip is: before anything else, choose your Ceremony and Reception venues. As for me, I really wanted a destination wedding where we are surrounded by nature. I want it outside Metro Manila, kasi gusto ko sasadyain ng guests ko ‘yung pag-attend ng wedding namin lol. But I ensured to make their trip worth it because of the venues’ picturesque views. Optics are very important for me - I want all sides, angles, and corners picture-ready. Because afterall, it’s the photos we’ll always look back to when we reminisce about this most special day. Having said those considerations, my husband and I chose the Caleruega Chapel of Transfiguration in Nasugbu, Batangas. Tall pine trees, flowering gardens, and picturesque landscapes surround the chapel. Moreover, the chapel itself is made of rustic brick and wooden accents which blend seamlessly with the natural environment. The next thing we did was to look for a reception venue that is drivable within 30 minutes, and meets the following criteria: 1. It is up to my aesthetics 2. It can accommodate 150 guests 3. Most importantly, it is within our budget Google Sheets was my best friend. I tabulated about 15-20 possible reception venues, called each one of them, and trimmed those that don’t meet the abovementioned criteria until we reached our top 3. And these are the ones we did an ocular visit to. Of the three, I fell in love with Kayama Mountain Resort. It’s nestled in lush greeneries and the panoramic view of Mt. Batulao. The main reception venue features glass walls which make nature become part of the decoration. What’s more, it also has rooms for our accommodation. The day of the wedding came, and I was so happy to see people taking photos from every corner of our venues. We have received many compliments regarding how breathtaking, serene, and beautiful our wedding was. Indeed, it was the best day of my life. #Wedding #Marriage #Reception
