La Union: The Perfect Blend of Beach Bliss and Nightlife
La Union is, by far, my barkada’s favorite go-to beach near Metro Manila. It offers the best of both worlds . The calm of the sea by day and the vibrant energy of parties by night. During the day, we tried out different restaurants, enjoyed long walks by the shore, swam at the ocean, and watched surfers catch some waves. We spent the whole afternoon lounging on the sand as we munched on our Shaka bowls. In the evening, the beachfront bars came alive with music, laughter, and lights. My friends and I went barhopping, starting off with the famous Flotsam and Jetsam. We didn’t stay there for so long, since we didn’t get a nice table. It was in Funky Quarters where we had fun the most. It was a night full of dance, booze, and games. We’ve met many people with whom we still keep in touch until today. Looking back, I realize how refreshing that La Union trip was. Before we went, I was overwhelmed with work and business stress. But being near the ocean, surrounded by friends, helped me clear my head. There’s something healing about sunsets, sea breeze, and shared laughter it reminded me that rest and connection are just as important as hard work.
