Dirty Ice Cream and the Sweet Taste of Childhood Memories
There’s a special kind of nostalgia that hits every time I eat dirty ice cream. By the way, it’s not actually dirty! It’s called 'Dirty Ice cream' is because it’s sold by street vendors, usually from pushcarts, and often enjoyed under the sun. Every time I hear kuya ice cream’s bel down the street, I can't help but smile and rush to buy a cup. It instantly brings me back to my childhood to simpler times when ₱5 could already buy me so much joy. Even though it's now pricey the taste remains the same. Which is comforting, creamy, and full of memories. For me, It’s more than just a dessert. It’s a little time machine that brings warmth to my heart. Revisiting those little pieces of our past can be grounding and healing, a quiet way to care for our mental well-being. Having the chance to try it again gives me comfort, a moment to slow down, and a reason to feel grateful for those carefree days. It reminds me to find happiness in small, simple things. Am I the only one who feels this way? I hope not! Let me know if this sweet treat brings you back too🍦✨
