Coping with Loss
When my grandma passed away four years ago, I felt a heaviness I could not shake. She had been more than a grandmother to me. She stood up as a mom after I lost my own when I was four. Losing her felt like losing the person who had always been my safe place and guiding light. I missed her warmth, her care, and the countless ways she made me feel loved and protected. The grief was real and sometimes overwhelming, and I had to remind myself that it was okay to feel sad. What helped me most was leaning on my family and close friends. Sharing stories about her, looking through old photos, or simply sitting together in silence brought comfort. Over time, the sadness softened, and I began to focus on the love, lessons, and strength she left behind. Losing my grandma was painful, but it reminded me of the resilience she taught me and the importance of cherishing every moment with the people I love.
