The Weight of My Dream: Balancing MedTech and Mental Health
Lately, I’ve realized that chasing my dream of becoming a Medical Technologist is not just about studying hard or passing exams, it’s also about fighting silent battles within myself. The long hours, endless reviews, and fear of failing sometimes make me question if I’m truly built for this path. There are nights when anxiety whispers louder than my motivation, and days when my confidence feels like it’s slipping away. I’ve come to understand that mental health plays a huge role in this journey because no amount of success feels fulfilling when your mind is exhausted and your heart feels heavy. That’s why I’m learning to give my mental well-being the same importance as my academic goals. Taking breaks, talking to people I trust, and reminding myself of my purpose have become part of my healing process. It’s not weakness to admit that I’m struggling; it’s courage to keep going despite the weight I carry. To all aspiring MedTechs out there we might be tired, but we’re not giving up. Our dreams are valid, and so is our need to rest and heal. 💉💚
