The Great Taste Restaurant - Lomi House in Batangas

Sometimes the best food finds aren’t planned—they just happen along the way. On a drive through Ibaan, Batangas, we stumbled upon Great Taste Lomi House, and what we thought would be a quick stopover turned into a full-on foodie highlight. It may not look like much from the outside, but they really do offer such tasty food! The highlight is definitely their Batangas-style lomi. Thick, savory, and loaded with toppings, it’s the type of bowl that feels like a warm hug. The portions are generous enough to share, but let’s be real, you’ll probably want to finish it yourself. Aside from lomi, they also whip up pancit canton, sisig, and other Filipino comfort food, plus pasalubong goodies if you want to bring a little Batangas flavor home. What makes it even better is how affordable it is. For the size and taste, you really get more than your money’s worth, which explains why locals and travelers keep coming back. Sure, it’s not perfect. The taste can be a little inconsistent depending on the day, and some toppings like chicharon bulaklak can be a bit chewy. The restrooms are outside near the parking, and flies can show up when it gets crowded. But honestly, those are small trade-offs for comfort food this filling and budget-friendly. At the end of the day, Great Taste Lomi House is exactly what its name promises. No frills, just great taste in every bowl, a true Batangas experience worth stopping for.

  1. Lomi Special

    Not bad
    Price ₱90

Served piping hot with a thick, flavorful broth, it’s packed with toppings like chicharon, kikiam, and other Batangas-style add-ons that make every bite satisfying. The noodles are chewy and filling, soaking up just the right amount of the savory sauce. What makes it even better is the generous portion, you get a bowl big enough to share, all for a very affordable price.

  2. Sotanghon

    Worth it
    Price ₱100

light yet flavorful, with just enough seasoning to warm you up without feeling heavy. The noodles are soft and silky, and the toppings add a nice balance that makes the dish more filling. It’s a great choice if you want something on the lighter side but still crave that classic Batangas home-cooked taste
