Taking care of my mental health as a creator
Lately I’ve been reflecting on how much being a content creator has affected my mental health--for better and for worse. Creating has given me so much joy and confidence, but at the same time, the pressure to always show up, look perfect, and chase numbers can get really overwhelming. There was a point when I started comparing myself constantly to other creators. I would feel bad about myself whenever I wasn't invited to an event or sent PR from brands I liked. On top of that, I had my own personal struggles like juggling school with brand work, which made me feel burnt out more times than I can count. What helped me was focusing on my own progress. I learned that other people's wins/achievements in life doesn’t take away from my own. I also started reminding myself why I started creating in the first place: to share stories, connect, and hopefully inspire. Staying physically active and even just talking openly about my struggles with close friends really lifted a weight off my shoulders. How do you guys take care of your mental health while creating?? Would love to hear your stories. ♡
