Until Dawn: Top 3 on Netflix PH š„š»
Hereās my take on Until Dawn 𤩠itās a mixed bag, but it lands enough hits that I think itās worth a watch and yes, itās been trending high in the Philippines, often appearing in the top 3 on Netflix. On the plus side, the movie has a really cool premise. The time loop structure gives it a puzzle vibe that keeps you guessing. The kills and horror visuals are often well done and the tension in certain scenes genuinely got me clutching my blanket a little tighter. Also, Ella Rubin as Clover and some others do a good job anchoring things so itās not just gore and jump scares but thereās emotional weight behind why the characters are there, especially Cloverās story. The emotional connection to the characters feels thin at times when deaths happen, youāre startled, but you donāt always feel the loss. The lore or supernatural angle like the Wendigos and hill experiments couldāve been fleshed out more; it sometimes feels rushed or underdeveloped. Also, a few scenes get repetitive, especially because of the loop mechanic. After a while, some of the novelty wears off. Overall, for me itās not perfect but it is fun horror. If you come in expecting something deeply faithful to the game, you might be disappointed. But if you just want something spooky, with mysteries and creepy visuals, it does the job. Plus, seeing it rise in Netflix PHās rankings shows a lot of people are getting drawn to it. If I were rating, Iād probably give it a solid 7/10 especially for horror fans who like a mix of scares and mystery. CTTOš·: Netflix Philippines
