Being a Girl’s Girl 🌷
I’m sure almost everyone has heard of this term, and several women claim to be one. But what does it truly mean to be a “girl’s girl”? I’ve recently pondered about this because one could say that they support girls but still secretly hate them. Some girls still feel like they’re in constant competition with other girls. But they’re not the one to blame because for centuries, heck even more, our society had put us up against each other. Be it through the unrealistic beauty standards they’ve set through advertisements, movies, rejections, fashion shows or the people who become famous. Physical beauty has been emphasized too much that what matters most is forgotten—the beauty we hold within. Something that is everlasting and will not fade away with time. So I think to be a girl’s girl is to start with appreciating one’s self. Because you can’t truly give other women something you don’t have. Strong women build each other up and not tear each other apart.
