Kontrabida Academy: Netflix’s Comedy Drama with a Twist
According to ABS-CBN News’ Facebook post, some of the country’s top Filipino screen kontrabidas are starring in the Netflix film Kontrabida Academy, now streaming on the platform. As a fan of comedy-dramas, I’m excited about Netflix’s new original film Kontrabida Academy, which is currently ranking as the Top 2 movie on Netflix Philippines. The story follows Barbie Forteza as Gigi, a young woman determined to be “bad and brave” after being constantly pushed around at work, at home, and even in love. Directed by Chris Martinez, the film carries the sharp humor and wit he’s known for in hits like Ang Babae sa Septic Tank and Here Comes the Bride. The star-studded cast also features JC Domingo, Jameson Blake, Michael de Mesa, Ysabel Ortega, Xyriel Manabat, Carmina Villaroel, and Yasser Marta.
