iOS 26 - Apple's next iOS

After months of testing and development, Apple has finally unveiled iOS 26 alongside macOS 26, iPadOS 26, WatchOS 26, and VisionOS 26. Apple has opted to skip 19 to 25 and directly jump to 26. The rationale behind this decision is to provide a clearer indication of the general availability of the OS. While the official release date is 2025, iOS 26 will be accessible for most of 2026. A major change in iOS 26 is the significant departure from the previous flat minimalist design, which has characterized iOS since iOS 7, to a new UI they named Liquid Glass. This new design incorporates a glass-like aesthetic throughout the entire operating system. As you move your phone, the light reflections on your icons mimic the way light interacts with glass. Folder icons refract the background of your Home Screen, and the lock screen has been redesigned to offer customization options, albeit not as customizable as Android. Core iOS applications, including camera, photos, messages (iMessage), music, and phone have also undergone improvements and design changes. iOS 26 is compatible with devices starting from the iPhone 11 series and the iPhone SE (2nd Generation). However, some features and functionalities of iOS 26 may not be available on devices older than the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, as certain features require Apple Intelligence-enabled devices.
