Date Idea #4: National Museum of Natural History
As I've told in my previous post, my partner is really a history buff. It's not unusual that you'd see us visiting museums around Metro Manila. One of my favorites is the National Museum of Natural History. It's called that because it houses different displays of botanical and zoological species that represent the Philippines' natural history. As we arrived, facade pa lang, very inviting na. The architecture is so amazing, hindi mo aakalaing walang entrance fee. Yup, you read that right - there's no entrance fee! The first thing that caught my attention when we entered was the metal-framed structure with a glass dome that houses the elevator at the very center of the museum. By then, I thought it looked like a tree. It was later on when I discovered that the architecture was really called "The Tree of Life" and it symbolizes the interconnectedness of all life forms - the very core of Natural History. How amazing is that? (I'm also pretty sure that the elevator was intentionally placed there as it connects us to all galleries of the museum). What brilliant minds the engineers and architects of this museum have! Of course, Lolong's stuffed remains also caught my attention. How can I miss that big of a creature? 🐊 In sum, I would suggest this to be your and your partner's next date destination. Aside from the fact that it's free, you'll also learn a lot about our Natural History. #DateIdeas #Museum #History
