How to Deal with Heartbreak ❤️‍🩹

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what it really takes to keep someone in your life. Not in a forced, hold-on-too-tight kind of way, but in the quiet, steady way that makes people feel safe around you. Like that night I noticed my friend didn’t laugh at a joke she usually loves. I didn’t ask questions right away. I just sat beside her and offered my hoodie like I always do when she’s had a long day. Later, she told me she didn’t have the words, but she remembered the comfort. It made me realize that keeping people isn’t about grand gestures or always having the right words. It’s about noticing. It’s texting them when a song reminds you of them, or remembering how they take their coffee. It’s showing up even when it’s easier to stay distant. I used to think people stayed because I tried hard enough, but now I know they stay when they feel at home with you. Some people will still leave. That’s part of life too. But for the ones who matter, I’m learning to show them they’re chosen, again and again, in both the big and quiet ways. #SlowHealing #Softgrief
