I Don’t Bend Like That

I used to shrink myself without thinking saying “it’s fine” when it wasn’t, agreeing to things just to keep the peace. I thought I was being easygoing, but really, I was just ignoring what I needed. Turns out, bending too much for everyone else makes you kind of disappear. Now, I’m learning to set small boundaries. Nothing dramatic, just gentle reminders that I matter too. I can still be soft and kind without folding myself in half. Still me. Just standing up straighter.
