My favorite comfort coffee shop... I know I’ve talked about it countless times already, but honestly? It still feels like I haven’t said enough. Unlike most people’s go-to coffee shops— with their fancy interiors, full-on food menus, and spacious seating, mine is the complete opposite. It’s simple, lowkey, and tucked away. Dash Espresso Coffee Shop isn’t even near my house (though it’s still within the city), yet it’s the one I keep coming back to— my OG spot. I’ve tried a lot of cafés, but none of them have made me feel the way Dash does. Every time I visit, I always end up ordering the same thing: an iced caramel macchiato and their classic Nutella almond waffle. I think I’ve been ordering that exact combo for almost a year now, and the best part? The taste has never changed. The coffee is always smooth and perfectly sweet, and the waffle is just as soft, warm, and satisfying as the first time I had it. It’s that kind of consistency that keeps me coming back. Just recently, they expanded their menu. And to my excitement, they now serve cheese corn and fries. And if you don’t know by now, I’m such a sucker for fries. I ordered both, of course, but what unexpectedly stuck with me was the cheese corn. It’s become a new staple in my order, and honestly, it just hits the spot. Back to the caramel macchiato— it’s hands down the best one I’ve ever had. It’s so good that it became the standard I now compare every other café’s macchiato to. I genuinely hope they never close down. But it’s not just about the food or the drinks. It’s the atmosphere. The vibe. The feeling of comfort and familiarity I get the moment I step inside. It’s a place where I can just be. I’m usually there with my friends, and we always end up laughing, catching up, and simply enjoying each other’s company. It’s become such a big part of my freshman year. it's like a quiet witness to all the small, happy moments I never want to forget. Dash will always be more than just a coffee shop to me. It’s a comfort space. A memory holder. A little second home.
