Boy Mom, The Sweet Side of Rough and Tumble

People often say boys are hard to raise because they’re too active or stubborn. But there’s a sweetness beneath the wildness that people don’t talk about enough. My son surprises me with drawings he calls "gifts," hugs that come out of nowhere, and questions like, "Are you happy, Mommy?" Even after a long day of running, fighting pretend villains, or yelling “No!” for the 50th time, he’ll still crawl into my lap and say, “I love you.” It melts me every time. This tender side is the treasure of my boy mom era.
