A Pause in the City

Earlier today, I took a quiet walk near Arroceros Forest Park—Manila’s hidden pocket of green. Just as I was about to head back into the city buzz, I spotted a bird perched calmly on a branch, tucked under the shade of leafy trees. It wasn’t doing anything dramatic—just sitting there, alert but at ease. Yet in that simple moment, everything around me felt still. In a city as alive and chaotic as Manila, finding a place like this is rare. Arroceros isn’t just a park; it’s a breath of fresh air—literally and figuratively. The trees muffle the noise of traffic, the birds bring music that isn’t mechanical, and you begin to remember what it feels like to simply be.
