Style Shouldn’t Hurt, But Sometimes It Does
We say fashion is fun, and it is. But it’s also deeply personal. It’s tied to how we see ourselves, how we want to be seen, and sometimes, to how we wish we could disappear. I’ve had days where I couldn’t find a single outfit that made me feel okay. Where every pair of jeans reminded me of a time I felt more ‘in control.’ Where putting on a crop top made me spiral into comparison. Not because I hate fashion but because I haven’t been kind to myself lately. I think we don’t talk enough about how styling your body can hurt , lalo na when you’re in a season of change. Whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional, minsan kahit simpleng pagpili ng outfit feels overwhelming. And maybe that’s why I’m learning to soften. To choose fabrics that hold me instead of squeeze me. Yung hindi lang maganda tingnan, pero magaan sa loob. To stop forcing myself into styles I’ve outgrown emotionally. To dress like someone who deserves comfort, kahit hindi ako 100% confident sa katawan ko that day. If you’re in that quiet, messy space too, this is me reaching out to say, hindi ka nag-iisa. Your worth is not measured in waistbands and your style doesn’t expire. You still belong in fashion, in joy, in this space. Even if all you can wear today is something safe.
